2010GREAT EXPECTATIONS is a dance performance for twelve dancers from the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. The personal hopes and dreams of the performers constitute the basis of the work. Using a range of choreographic languages and forms such as minimalist dance, physical theatre or the genre of the musical, the dancers on stage express their longings: from the life-defining desire to be important to the most trivial wish to simply smoke a cigarette.
